The Fair

Today we went to the county fair. Every night as we tuck her in, we tell Katie a list of "suggestions" as to what to dream about during the night. And the county fair and all its trappings are often among the recommendations. When it's February and it's cold and dreary, believe me, thoughts of a sunny day at the fair are what keep you going. And today was idealic. Really.

Arrival. Bubbling with anticipation. Everyone needs a cheap, simple tripod.

It only took 2 steps inside the gate to be hit with the fact that workers at the Washington County Fair may not be the strongest of spellers.

I didn't even know "haylage" was a word.

County fairs and gigantic American flags flown from a fire truck ladder go together like...uh... county fairs and gigantic American flags flown from a fire truck ladder I guess.

Katie was absolutely fixated on riding the merry-go-round. That was all she talked about. She was 100% in her glory. Nothing beats seeing your child as completely happy as she was on that ride. Wow.
